Bio | Children’s and YA author, and award-winning short story writer and freelance writer Andrea Rowe has been widely published. She is the author of 2022 Winning CBCA Shortlisted Picture Book of the Year – Early Reads, Jetty Jumping, published with Little Hare / Hardie Grant (Jan, 2021). Her next picture book is contracted with Hardie Grant to be released in 2023 and another with Midnight Sun in 2024. She is also the 2020/21 Hal Porter Short Story competition winner, 2022 Highly Commended Newcastle short SZtory Award, the 2020 Writers Victoria and Queenscliffe Literary Festival Microfiction competitions winner, 2022 Highly Commended winner for Newcastle Short Story Competition and has appeared in several anthologies and magazines with her commissioned work. Andrea is also the successful Writers / Artist in Resident for Police Pt 2022 with Mornington Peninsula Shire. The editor and content writer for several respected Australian not-for-profit newsletters, kids club communications and blogs, Andrea’s first love is children’s pictures books and YA writing (and Cherry Ripes!) She is the Founder of the Peninsula Writers’ Club and the Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor’s Writing Award. |
