Muriel Cooper


Muriel Cooper has been a prominent talk radio personality, journalist, social commentator, and motivational speaker. She is now a successful psychologist and blogger at The Talking Room, currently located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne.
Muriel’s highly successful media career included mornings on ABC radio. She became the first woman in Australia to rate Number 1 in prime time talk radio for her afternoon talk program on 3AW Melbourne.
Muriel has also written a successful children’s book ‘The Tiger and the Bridge’, and a young adult novel ‘The Wound’.
Her psychological mystery/fantasy ‘Lucid’ was published late last year. Her short story ‘There was Something Different About him’ was published in the anthology ‘South of the Sun’ an anthology of Australian Fairy Tales, produced by the Australian Fairy Tale Society in partnership with Serenity Press.

Muriel has recently completed her fifth novel The Wrinklie Collective, about a rich, weed growing widow in Brighton who forms a housing coop for the older person. The sequel to The Wrinklie Collective is already under way.

'Lucid' published by Pegasus. PWC Digital Writer in Residence. 'South of the Sun' adult fairy tale anthology. Children's picture book 'The Tiger and the Bridge' published by Macmillan.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently editing the sequel to my latest novel 'THe Wrinklie Collective' plus a mental health handbook 'Getting Your Head Together'.

What are your long term goals?

To have all three novels in the 'Lucid' series, and 'The Wrinklie Collective' published and also my young adult novel 'The Wound'.

What is your writing regime?

I write most days. When I am not writing I am researching and satiating my unending curiosity.
