Elise Walker

I live in Langwarrin (so not quite on the peninsula), but have worked, gone to school, performed in musical theatre and socialised on the peninsula. I am a teacher and a Triple Zero Call Taker. I have 3 kids aged 11, 9 and 6. I’m trying to establish some good writing habits now that I can build on throughout the rest of my life. As a busy parent I don’t get a lot of creative outlets, I look forward to building connections and making new friends in this arena, this is a very exciting time for me and I don’t think I’d be brave enough to pursue it, if not for the reflection and mental space, lockdown has afforded me away from a busy lifestyle as a working mum.

I have interests in writing children’s literature especially books that enhance inclusion and early engagement in social and emotional topics (I have interests in politics, psychology and philosophy). I’m also open to writing other things, and really just finding my feet as a writer so I’m happy to try anything.
