| Bio | I’ve enjoyed writing over the years. In my first career as a primary school teacher, I used to hunt out good books for my daily reading to the Gr 4s and 5s I’ve mainly written for my own pleasure and at times friends but in the last couple of years, I’ve started ‘the’ novel. It started, stopped and has started again and this time, I’m getting into it. I live in Mornington, I’m now retired with heaps of time on my hands [the only problem is that it vapourises before I get out of bed!]. Apart from writing, my main interests are my family, photography, driving and riding, the beauty in nature and issues that drive the chaos that is our world. I volunteer in the youth justice system as an Independent Person. The involves being present, if their parents or guardian are not available, when a juvenile is interviewed by police. We ensure that they are treated appropriately, their needs are met and that they understand their rights. I often leave the police station feeling quite saddened by the divide that exists within our society. These kids have no boundaries, they have no drive or vision and a very warped sense of what’s right or wrong. Many are from migrant/refugee backgrounds and like our own aborigines, there is a culture clash. Anyways, I’m looking forward to being a member of Peninsula Writers. I’m also a member of Writers Victoria. I’m still under warranty with both organisations |
