ABOUT OUR WORKSHOP

The business of getting published: the pathways, practicalities & reality

The dream of seeing your name on a book is one many writers hold but how do you achieve it?

Understanding the various pathways to publication, how traditional publishing works and the business side of being an author

are all important components that will give you the best chance at success.

Have you ever asked yourself?

  • How do I know when my manuscript is ready?
  • When should I (and how do I) pitch?
  • Publisher or agent?
  • Which path should I take?
  • Do I need a website?
  • Should I get headshots?
  • What about social media?

This workshop is for those of you who are working on—or have finished—a manuscript and starting to think about the next step.

FORMAT

This in-person half-day workshop focuses on the writing and publishing industry. It is a workshop designed for beginner-intermediate writers but is suitable to attend for writers of all levels and writing backgrounds. There will be plenty of industry know-how and an informal question-and-answer chat at the end.

Tea and coffee available, BYO own lunch or head to nearby cafes for catering in our break time.
