Please note – given the depth of this topic, this is a full day workshop and the fee for this workshop is slightly higher than our other workshops. It is still a very reasonable cost for a quality workshop and better still, you don’t have to travel to the CBD to attend!

ABOUT NICOLE

Nicole Hayes is an award-winning author and podcaster who has been teaching creative writing to adults and young people for almost two decades. Her novels have won or shortlisted in multiple awards, including NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and CBCAs, and has been awarded grants for manuscripts and film scripts in development. Nicole has also published non-fiction for adults and children, and is a founding member of the groundbreaking, all female AFL podcast, The Outer Sanctum. She is nearing completion of a PhD in Creative Writing at Deakin University where she also teaches undergraduates.

ABOUT OUR WORKSHOP

Award winning author, Nicole Hayes, will facilitate this workshop with a focus on the fundamentals of writing a story, from finding ideas, character development, and understanding setting, structure, and plot. With a focus on practical and accessible examples and exercises, Nicole draws on more than fifteen years’ writing and teaching experience to customise the workshop to meet each participant’s level of confidence and ability.

FORMAT

This is an in-person full-day workshop.

Please note - Nicole's capacity to provide feedback on writing samples and/or the number of practical exercises she will be able to include in the workshop will depend on the size of the group.

Tea and coffee available, BYO own lunch or head to nearby cafes for catering in our break time.
